GrittiGroup joins Greenpeace’s DETOX program

Moreover, has decided to subscribe the DETOX commitment from Greenpeace, with the aim to ban a list of chemicals from all production processes and to monitor those from its suppliers.

Based on the consultancy of Certest di San Miniato (PI) laboratory, where all tests were conducted, the purpose of this is to verify and ensure the absence of substances listed in the DETOX list.
The first step has been testing a MOP button, dyed and fixed with varnish. The button was made in the Italian factory in Grassobbio. The test confirmed total absence of the listed substances, being an excellent result to start with, this important path.

The following step has been to test a polyester button, also produced in our Italian plant. Again, the test reported the lack of any dangerous substance.

In incoming months Gritti Group will proceed testing the other main products, besides the water used among production processes.
The DETOX program is a further step in the sustainability path to which Gritti Group committed several years ago, when achieved the Oeko-Tex standard 100 class I certificate (please contact us at oekotex@grittigroup.com to get our latest certificate). The Oeko-Tex standard 100 class I certificate covers most of our products to guarantee the latest safety requirements to our customers (B2B) and final consumers (B2C). Just to name few, Oeko-Tex matchs the DETOX’s requirements for acid perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) and for perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), reducing allowed levels in their tests.
